After interning at the state insane asylum with her degree in Psychology, Kim felt eminently qualified to attend the Circus as a student of Art Direction. She graduated in 1996 and went on to work in the Ad biz for a number of years until the post 9-11 layoffs started. She then did what Creatives everywhere did at that time.
She “freelanced”. She sold a ton of cabernet and crab cakes, became a certified Substitute Teacher and taught everything from the alphabet to music. When not working twelve-hour shifts, she had a chance to art direct and write by having her own Christian t-shirt website and designing her own lamps. From there, she managed the Creative Recruiting efforts of a recruiting firm specializing in (what else?) advertising agencies.
She knows what it’s like to be a student. She knows what it’s like to look for a job in the biz. She knows what it’s like to do the job. And she knows what it’s like to be escorted out of an agency by Security when you mouth off to the guy whose name is on the front door. Savvier and wiser now, she always has the best interest of our students at heart.

Hiya Kim,
It’s Kevin Rej, former Circus instructor here…. Kids II has been expanding quite a bit over the past year, and will need to add add several package designers to our in-house team within the next 6 months. In the short term, I am looking to hire a several full-time freelancers for a 2 – 3 month tenure. We are launching three new retail brands of toddler toys. Can you recommend any recent graduates? Also, if you are interested, drop by to tour our studio and we can discuss our staff expansion plans in greater detail.
Let me know if you have questions, etc. I look forward to hearing from you.
Kevin
I have a BFA in graphic design since May and I have been on the hunt for a internship everywhere. I saw the Creative Circus in CMYK. I wanted to know if there were any internships available or experience I can learn from Creative Circus in the near future? I will be visiting Atlanta, GA this coming week and if there was a opportunity open I could station in Atlanta, GA for a few months to learn the ropes. Let me know what you think, maybe we can have a meeting. Thank you for your consideration.
